Our Story

 Welcome to Coosa Valley Technical Consulting (CVTC), where safety is our passion. Founded in 2023, CVTC is dedicated to offering high-quality safety and continuing education classes tailored for businesses and contractors of all sizes. Our goal is to ensure that every client receives the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain the highest safety standards in their operations.

    Classes Offered

    OSHA 10

    This industry recognized safety training helps attendees enhance safety  practices on the job site as well as the safety performance of the  construction team. Each attendee receives a nationally recognized  credential card upon completion. Take OSHA 10 and receive a quick  overview of job site safety. 


    OSHA 30

    This industry recognized safety training helps attendees enhance safety  practices on the job site as well as the safety performance of the  construction team. Each attendee receives a nationally recognized credential card upon completion. The 30-hour training program is intended to provide workers with some safety responsibility a greater depth and variety of training. 

    NFPA 70E

    This 4-hour safety training provides attended with an overview of the standards outlined in NFPA 70E. Get the information needed to understand OSHA and NFPA 70E revisions for 2023. Learn to select the proper protective equipment and review Hazard Risk Tables and labels for equipment. This class will help protect and reduce injury related to arc flash. 


    ARC Flash

    This 4-hour ARC Flash Safety Training course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to work safely around electrical equipment and systems that pose an arc flash hazard. The course covers the basics of arc flash, related safety standards, risk assessment, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

    Lockout/Tagout

    This 4-hour Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Safety Training course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to safely apply lockout/tagout procedures to control hazardous energy during maintenance and servicing of machinery and equipment. The course covers OSHA standards, LOTO procedures, the importance of energy control programs, and practical application of LOTO techniques. 

    Powered Industrial Trucks (forklift)

    Standard 1910.178, this class starts off with a couple hours in the classroom learning different aspects and types of forklift equipment as well as inspecting and safety of this equipment, then go outside and  every student has to complete a course on the forklift to show  competency. This class is usually about a 6 hour class depending on how  many students.

    Hazard Communication

    Standard 1910.1200, this class focuses HAZCOM and GHS employee and  employer responsibilities for things like SDS sheets, properly  labeling/tagging/marking, communication of this information to everyone,  what the different pictograms stand for. This class is about a 2-4 hour  class depending on how in-depth the trainer needs to go for the  facility. 

    Confined Space

    Standard  1910.146, this class is a Permit Required Confined Space course so focus  on the process for that situation, it discusses what a confined space  is and what hazards they can present, what the different person’s roles  are when a confined space is part of the job that day, at the end of the classroom portion we like to do a practical in a man-hole or other  space that we could use as a confined space and set up a tripod and mimic a non-entry confined space rescue as long as there is a space  onsite we can do this. This class is about 6 hours with the practical, if not able to do the practical it would be if would be a shorter  awareness only class about 2-4 hours depending on how in-depth trainer  needs to go. 

    Aerial Lifts including Fall Protection

    Standard 1910.67 and 1910.269, This class focuses on the different  lifts that raise a person up like the aerial lift or scissor lift, goes  through inspections of these units and the safe operation of them, then  goes into fall protection and being properly tethered off, with this class we also prefer to do the practical after the classroom portion if  these units are available for us to do so. This class is about 6 hours  with the practical depending on how many students, without the practical  it would be a shorter 2-4 hour class. 

    Machine Guarding

    This class focuses on different types of machines and parts and what the hazards are including some hand power tools. This class is about a 2-4  hour class depending on how in-depth the trainer needs to go for the facility.

    Custom Electrical Courses

    This Custom Electrical Safety Training course is designed to address specific electrical safety needs and concerns tailored to the unique requirements of your workplace. The course provides participants with essential knowledge and skills to safely work with electrical systems and equipment, focusing on the most relevant topics and practices for your industry. For example NEC, calculations, conduit bending, terminations, pathways, meters, residential, commercial, or industrial installations. Tell me what you need. 

    Electrical License Exam Prep Course

    This class equips participants to take the Georgia Electrical Contractors Exam. On Day 1, you'll delve into an expanded business and safety section, covering tax issues, contract management, employment requirements, and safety obligations. Days 2 and 3 focus on test-taking strategies, electrical calculations, and code review and application. You'll also complete practice tests to assess your knowledge, boost your confidence, and enhance your performance on the actual exam.

    Upcoming Classes

    OSHA 10 Construction

    This in-person 10 hour OSHA training will take place on November 21 - 22, 2024. Cost is $125.00 per person and includes a laminated OSHA card. Seats are limited so reserve your spots now. This training is sponsored by Matthews Lighting and Electrical and will take place at their office located at 18 Old Airport Rd. Rome, GA 30165.
